Associate, Admissions

Per Scholas is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented individual to serve as the Associate, Admissions within our Program Operations department in New York.  This is a temporary position with the potential to lead into a permanent position.

What We're Looking For

The Associate, Admissions is responsible for supporting the admissions process in New York which includes leading daily information sessions, assessing and interviewing candidates, maintaining data on all applicants in Salesforce, and coordinating special projects and events like graduations and class kickoffs.

All training tracks require technical interviews.  For this reason, technical knowledge is a preferred requirement of this position.  

What You'll Do

  • Lead daily information and assessment sessions for prospective candidates
  • Conduct candidate interviews to select program candidates based on eligibility criteria
  • Coordinate final round interviews and manage the final selection process
  • Enter data in real-time on all applicants to the training program
  • Use data to drive tactical decisions on the admissions process
  • Coordinate class kick offs and graduations
  • Make appropriate referrals for students that are not selected for the training program
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective candidates
  • Assist in maintaining applicant records in order
  • Assist in coordination of special projects and events
  • Provide telephone coverage as needed
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Professional Qualifications

  • HS Diploma; Associate's Degree or higher preferred
  • A+ certification, knowledge of networking and programming languages preferred
  • Excellent written communication, presentation, and customer service skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel; knowledge of Salesforce.com preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Typing speed of 35 wpm or higher
  • Prior knowledge of Per Scholas operations is a plus
