POSITION TITLE: Senior Manager, Admissions

REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Social Ventures

LOCATION: Bronx, NY

POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Contract (18 months)

The Social Ventures team at Per Scholas is launching a new, large scale, customized training effort and has contracted with a large US-based tech services company to train local talent for in-demand tech roles. We are a small, multi-disciplinary team seeking individuals who can ensure the success of this new initiative.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Per Scholas is seeking a dynamic, team oriented individual to serve as a Senior Manager, Admissions. The Student Recruitment team is critical in identifying the talent it takes to succeed in a tech career. Key activities in this role will be screening and identifying candidates who have entry-level technology skills and are looking to accelerate their career; refining and evolving the recruitment process to maximize efficiencies; and working closely with the Social Ventures leadership team. If you love to innovate and try to new methods of sourcing and evaluating talent, you will excel in this role.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Guide admissions process and oversee sourcing opportunities
  • Analyze current process and recommend ongoing improvements to streamline process
  • Recommend new strategies and avenues to recruit
  • Manage two Admissions Associates; one of those will focus on online recruitment postings and communications
  • Act as day-to-day coordinator of onsite admissions activities
  • Lead information and assessment sessions for prospective candidates; schedule staffing as required
  • Track and report on student application volume and trends
  • Conduct candidate interviews
  • Coordinate final round interviews and manage the final selection process
  • Enter data in real-time on all applicants
  • Use data to drive tactical decisions on the admissions process
  • Coordinate class kickoffs and graduations
  • Make appropriate referrals for students that are not selected for the training program
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective candidates
  • Assist in maintaining applicant records in order
  • Assist in coordination of special projects and events
  • Provide telephone coverage as needed
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Professional Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of Admissions Experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Solid understanding of business needs and how to source talent to meet them
  • Excellent written communication, presentation, and customer service skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel; knowledge of Salesforce preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Prior knowledge or background in IT and a passion for technology is a plus
  • Strong technical aptitude and organizational skills
  • Strong follow-up skills
  • Prior knowledge of Per Scholas operations is a plus
