POSITION TITLE: Senior Manager, Partnerships

REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Social Ventures


POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Contract (18 months)

The Social Ventures team at Per Scholas is launching a new, large scale, customized training effort and has contracted with a large US-based tech services company to train local talent for in-demand tech roles. We are a small, multi-disciplinary team seeking individuals who can ensure the success of this new initiative.


Per Scholas seeks a Senior Manager, Partnerships to ensure Per Scholas students are successful in the workplace after graduation. You will coordinate with the hiring teams at our lead employer partner to raise awareness about our students as a source of skilled candidates for entry-level employment and build pipelines between employers and Per Scholas graduates and alumni. The Senior Manager coordinates closely with Director of Curriculum & Innovation to design and refine the career development curriculum, engages with students throughout their coursework, and delivers components of the career development curriculum in coordination with course instructors. The Senior Manager works closely with recent graduates to help them find and secure employment, advise them on career advancement opportunities, refer them to supportive services, and provide coaching and other activities to ensure ongoing success in the workplace.


  • Design, develop and lead the implementation of the career development strategy to prepare students for entry- to mid-level careers in IT
  • Connect the career development strategy with client requirements and the business development/solutions strategy
  • Provide students with ongoing individual career counseling and employment preparation coaching
  • Identify student needs, provide necessary resources, establish individualized plans for student achievement, recommend students for particular employment opportunities, and address behavior or attitude concerns of students
  • Build the functioning relationship with the employer partners
  • Coordinate, schedule, manage, and recognize volunteers from the business community to work with students
  • Prospect for potential partners by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network as well as research. Turn these relationships into new employers or thought partners for Per Scholas
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in job opportunities
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators


Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Knowledge of workforce development with a minimum of 5 years experience in the area
  • Experience in training adults (18+)
  • Experience in career and job development with specific experience with job readiness/workplace skills training
  • Demonstrated experience in classroom training and understanding principles of classroom management and diversity
  • Experience managing employer relationships
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Google Apps and Salesforce experience a plus
  • Experience in talent acquisition, staffing or recruitment preferred
  • Experience in executive coaching, life coaching, or employee coaching a plus
  • Experience in organizational training & development or learning & development
  • Experience with start-up organization
