Senior Manager, Career Development, Platform by Per Scholas

REPORTS TO: Director, Relationship Management

Platform by Per Scholas is a new, large-scale, customized training effort and has contracted with a large US-based tech services company to train local talent for in-demand tech roles. We are a nimble, multi-disciplinary team seeking individuals who can ensure the success of this initiative.  


Platform by Per Scholas seeks a Senior Manager, Career Development to ensure their students are successful in the workplace after graduation.  The Senior Manager coordinates closely with Director, Relationship Management to design and refine the career development curriculum, engages with students throughout their coursework, and delivers components of the career development curriculum in coordination with course instructors. The Senior Manager works closely with recent graduates to help them find and secure employment, advise them on career advancement opportunities, refer them to supportive services, and provide coaching and other activities to ensure ongoing success in the workplace.


  • Conduct the implementation of the career development strategy to prepare students for entry- to mid-level careers in IT 
  • Connect the career development strategy with client requirements and the business development/solutions strategy
  • Provide students with ongoing individual career counseling and employment preparation coaching
  • Assist admissions with application and document collection, organization, and processing
  • Conduct real-time student data entry in
  • Identify student needs, provide necessary resources, establish individualized plans for student achievement, recommend students for particular employment opportunities, and address behavior or attitude concerns of students
  • Working closely with the Talent Solutions relationship management team, provide assistance to new graduates that are managing job search activities
  • For one year post-graduation, provide monthly and quarterly follow-up and advancement services to both employed and unemployed alumni
  • Connect program graduates with the resources necessary for them to maintain employment and advance in their careers


Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 5 years related professional experience in training adults (18+) including:
    • Career and job development with specific experience with job readiness/workplace skills training
    • Demonstrated experience in classroom training and understanding principles of classroom management and diversity
    • Managing employer relationships
    • Working with diverse populations
    • Organizational training & development or learning & development 
    • Talent acquisition, staffing or recruitment (preferred)
    • Executive coaching, life coaching, or employee coaching (preferred)
    • Experience with start-up organization (preferred)
  • Knowledge of workforce development
  • Google Apps and Salesforce experience a plus

Platform students receive free hands-on training, career development resources and interview opportunities with technology employers to help take their career to the next level.
