Per Scholas seeks a locally-based Director of Employer Partnerships in our St. Louis market to develop new employer partnerships, deepen existing relationships, and ultimately create a pipeline of employers that are both able to hire multiple Per Scholas graduates for relevant IT jobs and willing to pay Per Scholas for each job placement. 


The Director of Employer Partnerships is responsible for the successful placement of our learners into thriving wage tech roles in the local market, including through the testing and scaling of a new Per Scholas fee-based product offering called Talent Solutions Plus. You will identify, connect, and establish relationships with decision-makers including CIOs, CISOs, and other influences with the primary objective of understanding their technology hiring needs and offer talent solutions, selling our Talent Solutions Plus product directly to these employers. 


We seek candidates with experience building corporate partnerships and/or sales relationships (including lead generation, business development, relationship management, and negotiation experience), preferably in technology, talent acquisition, and/or human resources. Success in this role is measured by achievement of employment opportunities for our graduates under our corporate fee structure (securing minimum 5-10 employer partners), meeting the team’s monthly and yearly job obtainment goals of 60% or more hired within 4 months and 80% hired within 12 months, and broader support of the goals of placement fee pilot (e.g., capturing and reporting out on learning / employer feedback). 





○ Analyze trends, opportunities, and companies within the industry that will help you develop and maintain a strong understanding of the market and our competitors 

○ Develop an employer sales strategy for your market in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. This will include sector and occupational analysis, and may include informational interviews with existing employer partners and Per Scholas colleagues 

○ Build a pipeline of local employer partnerships, connecting directly to decision makers at the C-level, HR, and other influencers 

Pitch Talent Solutions Plus/Coaching model, in partnership with local leadership, to employers in your market and negotiate hiring agreements ○ Implement a local, enterprise-level strategy with a goal of sustainably securing 5-10 employer accounts to place a minimum of 80% of cohort graduates, this will include a full client cycle from networking and prospecting, through initial stage relationship management, to successfully landing and fulfilling a volume job order, with high employer satisfaction ○ Work in partnership with local Per Scholas leadership and staff as well as the expansion and innovation teams


Offering Development and Management 

○ Work closely with the professional development manager and instructors to ensure learners are matched to appropriate job opportunities ○ Advise on the marketing collateral, pitch materials, and market positioning needed for a successful employer conversations 

○ Adapt Per Scholas’s Talent Solutions Plus / Coaching offering to the local market, helping to further define and develop it as we expand 

○ Manage accounts to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction 

○ Maintain real-time records in CRM ( and active communication with clients 


Refine & Iterate & Scale 


○ Work with Innovation and Sales team to refine the Talent Solutions Plus pitch and value proposition based on employer feedback ○ Support documentation of success metrics and how to scale the approach 

○ Additional duties as required 




Professional Qualifications 

● 5+ years advanced sales experience required, including an understanding of how to move a nuanced sales cycle forward across influencers, decision-makers, buyers, and users of the service 

● Deep understanding and connection (C-level) to the local market business community with a focus on tech and tech enabled enterprises 

● Advanced ability to close deals

● Success in planning and leading effective negotiations that align with financial objectives 

● A demonstrated ability to add value to customers, and attain a deep understanding of customers’ business goals 

● Experience consulting / advising clients, including experience presenting to senior executives (C-Level), operational managers, and both technical and non-technical staff 

● Knowledge of key IT industry trends, understanding of your city / metropolitan area’s technical talent market, and prior relationships with companies 

● Demonstrated creativity in the development of solutions to diverse customer needs, including requirements documents, statements of work and contracts 

● Track record of excellent relationships with partners and executives 

● Strong emotional intelligence, persuasion, presentation, and influencing skills 

● Functional expertise in Google Suite

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary of $85,000/year, with a range between $80,000/year and $89,250/year, where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides, and alignment with qualifications and experience.
