Manager, Youth Career Pathway Program Operations, New York

REPORTS TO: Director, School Partnerships, New York  
LOCATION: New York City


Per Scholas is seeking a Manager, Youth Career Pathway Program Operations to launch its Youth Career Pathways Initiative. The Manager will join a new team at Per Scholas that will strategically implement an initiative to partner with high schools to design and develop pathways for students into careers in tech. The Manager will work collaboratively to build and manage internal systems and play an integral role in creating and launching the initiative in NYC schools.  


  • Organize and facilitate strategic planning, budgeting, implementation and evaluation of key metrics for a successful launch of a new initiative developing youth pathways to careers in tech.
  • Develop systems for efficient workflows for project management and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for the initiative and strategically partner with Per Scholas’ teams to drive progress toward program outcomes.
  • As a member of Per Scholas’ New York team, collaborate with partner teams responsible for business solutions,  program design, management, and delivery. Partner with Per Scholas’ marketing team to articulate and distribute external facing marketing collateral about the initiative.
  • Manage contracts and track program expenditures.
  • Participate in, and document site visits to schools, employer partners, and community-based organizations.


Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required. 
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in operations management with a youth development, education or workforce development focus. 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to anticipate, prioritize, and manage multiple workstreams.
  • Experience working with complex, multi-stakeholder operations, workflows and systems related to project design, launch, budgeting, contracting and evaluation. 
  • Knowledge of workforce development history, research, and policy or demonstrated expertise in a complementary discipline and a willingness to invest significant time in learning, preferred. 
  • Experience defining and analyzing program metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Willingness to invest time in learning about tech and trends in the industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ease in communicating with diverse audiences.
